I think of all my faves, I would trust Boothill most to wash and style my hair.

For one: He has long luscious and healthy hair he keeps up himself. Though, of course, the texture is different from mine and I��m sure requires different things, I’m also sure the knowledge he has would definitely be of more help than harm. If he really loved someone (which he does, in fact, love me very deeply uwu), I’m sure he would be happy— perhaps even a little excited— to learn more about how to properly care for his partner’s hair if they asked. He does seem like the acts of service type to me. Goes well with the southern gentleman vibes he’s got going on mmmm 🙂‍↕️.

For two: I am nowhere near Penacony in my own gameplay I’m pretty sure, and I don’t know about his backstory in great detail. But from the little I do know and what I have seen in some places in fandom, the story of his people in the wake of the IPC ravaging their planet seem to have a lot of parallels with indigenous people irl. So I’d like to adopt the idea that he holds a similar belief that there is a depth of importance/significance/meaning when it comes to ones hair, what it can hold, and what it symbolizes. His lived experience will definitely be a lot different from mine, which will shape the differences in what our hair represents to each of us respectively. But I like that he would have the ability to understand on a deeper level that it can be more than just hair.

For three: Before tragedy struck his home planet, he was in fact a girl dad. There was a little girl he had found and adopted in the time he was still fully human. I think he would know at least a few cute styles from his time taking care of her. And maybe because of all that happened and the loss of her that he faced, combined with the above point, he would find it rather intimate that I would ask and trust him to help me with my hair. I think he would be rather emotional about it the very first time.

For four: If he would let me, I would also love to in turn care for his hair <333333. To tenderly pour my love into one of the parts of him that remains human. To pamper him and soothe the rage inside that pushed him to make the choices he did to become what he has. I feel he probably doesn’t take the time to care for himself much outside of mechanical needs for his body on the hunt for the one that caused the demise of his home. I want to give that piece of peace to him.

Note: Only things I would worry about when he does my hair (if it is an AU where he is cyborg and not human) are 1) that my hair may be pinched or get caught in his finger/hand joints and 2) water and hair products may damage him augh. So he would probably have to get specialized gloves of some sort to inhibit those two factors methinks.

Note 2: I can’t really think of specifics on how he would do my hair or style my hair per se. Just that I think he would do his best to try and that I would do my best to try to teach him in the ways <3. We figure it out together :3. I think at first it’s mostly me showing him how. Then maybe I transition to letting him try small things during my process of me doing it. Then we go to tag teaming my hair together. And eventually he can do it by himself! All along the way he is absorbing as much as he can, asking questions, connecting ideas to environmental situations I face or habits he observes in me relating to my hair. It gets to a point where he is noticing or suggesting things for helping me care for my hair before even I do lol. He is so loverboy 🥰.
